Aggregate Space Gallery (ASG) is a one-of-a-kind space that creates and hosts museum-quality exhibitions and lectures that are free and open to the public. We support bold projects by emerging artists working in installation and video so they can create and experiment outside of the commercial realm. We are a rare resource in Oakland and an important springboard critical for emerging & multi-disciplinary artists working in the Bay Area arts ecosystem.
We are growing and need you. * ASG has recently received major funding for the first time from two national organizations * to the tune of $65,000 for this year alone. Our team is specifically seeking help with Finance, Fundraising, Legal, and Real Estate as well as other new board members with varying expertise. Anyone who is interested in serving should contact Willis Meyers, ASG Board President, at willis@aggregatespacegallery.org.
Candidates should be self-starters to support our nimble staff and volunteers. Fundraising/development experience is a necessity. Additional professional expertise desired in (but not limited to) the following areas: fundraising , legal, finance/strategy, consumer marketing, public relations, facilities/real estate, architect, contractor, Oakland business owners, and nonprofit professionals .
The board meets every month at Aggregate Space Gallery. All board members participate on organizational committees, such as the Marketing, Development, and/or Governance committees. It is a fun opportunity where you can get in on the ground level and make an impact on the overall long-term sustainability of a burgeoning arts organization.
Board members are invited to attend two to three additional events per month such as member’s events, exhibition openings, and committee meetings. Board members are to serve on at least one committee; contribute $1000 annually, (payable in quarterly installments); and donate 40+ hours annually in their area of expertise.
We are a “working board” for a growing organization, so ideally candidates could commit to about 2-5 hours of work a week to support this growth. Thank you for your interest!
